Northumberland
can be enjoyed in many different ways; by bicycle, walking or car.
You can take a bike ride on a huge number of roads carrying very
little traffic, plus a good selection fo off-road tracks and bridleways.
Walking is a pleasure
along the golden beaches that stretch for miles. Dogs are allowed
on the beaches. Two miles north of Seahouses is Bamburgh, famous
for it's medieval castle. Then, two miles south we have Beadnell,
another picturesque fishing village with stunning views across it's
golden beach towards Dunstanburgh Castle.
Walking in the Cheviot
Hills is another firm favourite with visitors to the area. We have
a short walk around Seahouses that is suitable for all ages and
abilities, including the disabled. At only 1.5 miles long, it can
be walked in as little as half an hour, depending on how often you
stop to admire the fantastic views. The bonus is that it is all
on one level with no stiles to negotiate.
By car is the most popular
way, and the most convenient to visit a lot of areas. Lindisfarne,
Cragside, and Otterburn to name just a few! The Lodge is the perfect
place to stay and is an ideal base from which you can explore the
Northumberland coast and Cheviot hills.
