The Lodge.

The Lodge is situated on the North-East coast of Northumberland in the traditional fishing village of Seahouses.

Northumberland is the most northerly of England's counties and is often referred to as the 'Forgotton County' or 'Secret Kingdom'. The coastline is a surprise and a delight to those who are visiting for the first time, with mile upon mile of golden beaches, views of the Farne Islands (only 1.5 miles from Seahouses), which can be visited by boat and are also home to the largest seal colony in Europe and an amazing bird colony with a large variety of sea birds. There are also the medieval castles of Holy Island, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh all within a few short miles of each other.

The accommodation (pictured right) is situated at the rear of the property, so there is little noise. The rooms are chalet style, all en-suite, with TV and coffee making facilities. The fully centrally heated rooms are all on one level, so there are no stairs to climb. A store is available for your use should you need to put away bicycles, bulky items etc.

The bedrooms lead into a sun trapped courtyard and patio garden that is ideal to relax in after your day out.

The Lodge has a cosy pine bar with an indoor Aquarium and underwater pictures. You can relax by enjoying a game of pool with a drink from the bar which offers a selection of fine beers, lagers and wide range of spirits and soft drinks.

Our restaurant caters for both residents and non-residents, offering a wide selection of food, freshly prepared for you while you wait. We are open all year round for accommodation and food.

On the right is our lounge, this leads into the restaurant and is where we serve our bar meals or you can simply relax in one of the comfortable seats and unwind.

We are open for Christmas Day lunches and cater for Christenings, Parties and Childrens Birthday Parties. Phone for prices and availability.

Northumberland can be enjoyed in many different ways; by bicycle, walking or car. You can take a bike ride on a huge number of roads carrying very little traffic, plus a good selection fo off-road tracks and bridleways.

Walking is a pleasure along the golden beaches that stretch for miles. Dogs are allowed on the beaches. Two miles north of Seahouses is Bamburgh, famous for it's medieval castle. Then, two miles south we have Beadnell, another picturesque fishing village with stunning views across it's golden beach towards Dunstanburgh Castle.

Walking in the Cheviot Hills is another firm favourite with visitors to the area. We have a short walk around Seahouses that is suitable for all ages and abilities, including the disabled. At only 1.5 miles long, it can be walked in as little as half an hour, depending on how often you stop to admire the fantastic views. The bonus is that it is all on one level with no stiles to negotiate.

By car is the most popular way, and the most convenient to visit a lot of areas. Lindisfarne, Cragside, and Otterburn to name just a few! The Lodge is the perfect place to stay and is an ideal base from which you can explore the Northumberland coast and Cheviot hills.
